Environmental safeguards are paramount during the tank removal process, including proper disposal techniques.
The proper safety check list is always followed when decommissioning storage tanks or tank removal. This will prevent any damage to the environment and safeguard any risk to the public or NADC's own working personnel.
Types of tank removal include petroleum, chemical and water. These types of tanks can vary between underground and above ground. In all cases, these different types of storage tanks are pumped out, rinsed and the liquids or contents are tested.
Once identified, the contents are then properly disposed of at one of the states approved liquid waste sites. The tank(s) are then removed to an approved site for scrap processing.
