What Is Industrial Strip-Out?

Industrial strip-out is the controlled removal of equipment, process systems, utilities and interior components while the primary structure of a facility remains in place. NADC plans each project around existing conditions, surrounding operations, access requirements and the components designated to remain.

Work may include production equipment, tanks, piping, ductwork, conveyors, mechanical and electrical systems, interior structures and other facility components. Strip-out can prepare a facility for renovation, reconfiguration, equipment upgrades, repurposing, decommissioning or future demolition.

A Planned Approach to Industrial Strip-Out

Every industrial strip-out project requires careful coordination to remove equipment, systems and interior components while protecting the structure and items designated to remain. NADC evaluates existing conditions, access requirements, utility connections, surrounding operations and material-handling needs before work begins so removal can proceed safely and efficiently.

01

Scope & Facility Evaluation

Equipment, systems, utilities and interior components designated for removal are identified along with items and structures that will remain.

02

Utility Isolation & Protection

Mechanical, electrical, process and other utility connections are coordinated and isolated while surrounding structures, equipment and operations are protected.

03

Equipment & System Removal

Production equipment, tanks, piping, ductwork, conveyors and other facility components are dismantled and removed using methods suited to access, size and site conditions.

04

Material Handling & Area Turnover

Recoverable materials and equipment are separated for reuse, recycling or disposal, and the cleared area is prepared for renovation, reconfiguration or its next intended use.

Industrial Strip-Out Capabilities

NADC provides industrial strip-out services based on the facility, equipment and systems designated for removal. Each scope is planned to clear the required areas while protecting the structure, remaining components and surrounding operations.

Remove

Production Equipment & Machinery

Removal of manufacturing equipment, machinery, tanks and other production assets designated for removal.

Interior Structures & Components

Removal of platforms, mezzanines, partitions, ceilings and other interior facility components while maintaining the primary structure.

Dismantle

Process Systems & Utilities

Controlled dismantling and removal of mechanical, electrical and process systems coordinated with required utility isolation.

Piping, Ductwork & Conveyors

Removal of piping, ductwork, conveyors and material-handling systems using methods suited to facility access and surrounding conditions.

Prepare

Asset Recovery & Material Separation

Identification and separation of equipment, metals and other materials for potential reuse, resale or recycling.

Area Cleanup & Turnover

Removal of remaining debris and preparation of cleared areas for renovation, equipment installation, reconfiguration or future use.

Industrial Strip-Out Project Experience

We deliver successful outcomes across a broad range of industries and facility types.

Industrial Strip-Out Across Facility Types

NADC performs industrial strip-out across a wide range of industrial, commercial and institutional facilities, including:

Manufacturing Facilities

Removal of production equipment, machinery, process systems and interior components to support renovation, reconfiguration or facility transition.

Power Generation Sites

Strip-out of equipment, systems and supporting components within operating or decommissioned power facilities.

Pulp and Paper Mills

Removal of process equipment, piping, ductwork, conveyors and other systems within mill and processing environments.

Chemical and Process Plants

Controlled removal of tanks, process equipment, piping, utilities and related facility systems.

Warehouse & Distribution Facilities

Removal of material-handling systems, conveyors, racking, mezzanines and other interior components.

Commercial & Institutional Properties

Interior and equipment strip-out to prepare existing spaces for renovation, reconfiguration or future use.

Vacant & Decommissioned Industrial Sites

Removal of remaining equipment, systems and materials to prepare facilities for reuse, redevelopment or future demolition.
